Bastille Day in Cebu

As a citizen of France I read with interest the article you have published on August 17 reporting the celebration of the French National day in the presence of his Excellency, Ambassador Gilles Garachon.

While this event for the French Community in Cebu and Visayas is important, it is regrettable that the majority is not invited. They are purely and simply ignored year after year for unknown reasons.

The official proud motto of France “LIBERTE (Liberty) - EGALITE (Equality) - FRATERNITE(Fraternity)” is not applied, respected.

What happened to: Freedom of expression? Equal respect?Brotherhood support?

How can we unite around the motto of the French Republic when the great majority of French citizens are absent since they never received invitations?

Is there anyone who can explain this repeated yearly insult to the French Nationals of Cebu and Visayas?
