“Hanging Rice” the Cebuano “invention”

“HANGING RICE”. A Cebuano civic worker and food entrepreneur is promoting the popularity of Cebu’s “puso” or “hanging rice” in Iloilo City. “Promoting the Cebuano ‘invention’ comes easy because the promoter is also into the lechon business,” an Ear informer said. “Ilonggos have started learning to eat puso with lechon like what we Cebuanos do.”

“KINAMOT”. “Lami gyud kan-on ang puso with lechon kong kinamot ang pagkaon niini,” the Cebuano food entrepreneur tell his Ilonggo customers. “This is how puso-cum-lechon is eaten in Cebu,” he stressed. Many carinderias in Iloilo are now selling puso, according to our Ear informer.
