There’s growing poverty in US too

After reading my little comments here about gun control, gun bang gone ban, someone called for pun control.

My friend Teddy H. said the anti-amnesia drug I wanted some promising politicos to take won’t work on them. “So, forget it,” he said.

***

I knew a politician who was too fast in accepting under-table deals. He got over-the-hill too soon.

***

I heard some people complaining about PNoy’s automatic exemption from the gun ban. “Abi kay President man siya...” They said. “Oh, well, no problem. Pag-Presidente sad mo,” said one Pilosopo Tacio.

***

Did you know that there’s also a “growing poverty” in America? This according to Reuter. Now don’t fret if you hear the SWS say many Pinoys consider themselves poor.

***

It says here that OFW remittances continue to rise. And some nuts want the government to ban the deployment of OFWs.

***

“Let’s face it. The government will never exert any effort to stop exporting Pinoy workers, says an economic scholar who prefers to remain unnamed. “It knows it can’t do without the OFWs’ remittances.”

***

Asked (by local media) if he had a message for suspended Governor Garcia, President Aquino said he did not want to give Gwen unsolicited advice’ but she could freely talk to him.

***

If I’m not mistaken — if my mind is serving me well — the first President to make famous the line “unsolicited advice” was PNoy’s mother, the late President Cory. I remember her saying that when she was sort of flooded with advices from people — mostly media people — who must’ve thought Cory didn’t know her job being just a housewife.

My friend Teddy H. (he has warned me never to reveal the meaning of “H”) phoned in to say: “The squabbles in the Senate, this time between Senators Lacson and Santiago, is little news as far as I’m concerned. I’m concerned more about the news in your paper about skyrocketing of the prices of fish and vegetables.”

***

“This news about fish and vegetable is more important to your life and mine than the bickerings in the Senate,” said Teddy H.

OVERHEARD; Two city hall personnel were heard talking about PNoy’s claim that he was not invited to the Sinulog festival. Said one: “Mahimo ba gud nang wa siya imbitaha.” Said the other: “Ang mga danghag niyang tawo sa Malacañang maoy wa mopahibawo niyang dunay imbitasyon gikan sa Sinulog Foundation. Nauwawan na nuon ang Sugbo sa ilang kadanghag.”
