CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City police will implement strict security in the vicinity of Don Bosco Missionary Seminary in Barangay Lawaan III where Papal Legate Charles Cardinal Bo will preside over a Mass at 10 a.m. today.
Superintendent Germano Mallari, chief of Talisay City Police, said 40 police personnel from Talisay City and 40 from the Cebu Provincial Police Office will be deployed to secure the roads and maintain peace and order.
Mallari advised the massgoers not to bring sharp objects and other objects that could pose danger to the public.
“Tagsa-tagsaon gyud ang tawo nga mosulod sa maong simbahan aron ra man pud ni sa ilang seguridad samtang motambong sa misa sa papal legate,” Mallari said.
He added that no roads will be closed this day considering the short duration of the papal legate's visit.
Mallari said the roads where Don Bosco is located could accommodate the number of expected vehicles. However, the police official already coordinated with the City of Talisay-Traffic Operation Development Authority (CT-TODA) to assist motorists to better manage the traffic.
He warned the motorists not to park anywhere so their vehicles will not be towed.
"Maayo pa nga magpahatud lang ang manimbahay aron pud nga dili modugang sa daghan nga sakyanan," Mallari suggested.
After the Mass, the papal legate will proceed to Cebu City for the closing Mass of the 51st International Eucharistic Congress. (FREEMAN)
