CEBU, Philippines – Still in Talisay City, a 22-year-old man was wounded after he was stabbed by his neighbor on Christmas in Sitio Nonoc, Barangay Tabunok.
The victim, Jeric Donel Ohagan, single, was rushed to Talisay City District Hospital and was later transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City after sustaining stab wounds on his abdomen.
He was allegedly stabbed by Lolito Mabunay, 45, who was arrested after the incident.
Police Officer 3 Junyl Ater of Talisay City police said the suspect's son was playing firecrackers which prompted the victim to get mad.
The victim allegedly told the suspect's son to play firecrackers far from where their house.
The suspect heard the victim, prompting him to get mad.
Ater said a heated altercation ensued and the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.
The victim was rushed to the hospital while the suspect fled but was later arrested in a follow-up operation by the barangay tanods. He was placed behind bars, waiting for charges to be filed against him. (FREEMAN)
