Radaza finds Lapu-Lapu hospital dirty

CEBU, Philippines - In its 56th founding anniversary, the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital was found to be a “dirty place” and offering “poor service.”

After an inspection, Mayor Paz Radaza said efforts of the hospital’s working force should be improved so that the facility’s image can improve as well.

“Despite having 107 personnel, I have received reports that some ceiling fans, at one time, were filled with cobwebs. This is not the kind of report I want to hear emanating from our hospital,” Radaza said.

The mayor wants the hospital staff to be more efficient in delivering services citing complaints she received in the city government’s Facebook page.

However, Radaza said a new two-story hospital building worth P20.6 million will rise beside the existing hospital building before the year ends. The city will provide a supplemental fund of P10 million for the project’s completion.

This, she said, is expected to perk up the delivery of health services to the people.

The new building, which will be funded by the Department of Health, will house new emergency and minor operating rooms, a laboratory, blood bank, X-ray room and a doctor’s quarter. It will have six private rooms.

Radaza said the expansion of their existing hospital will be a welcome development for residents who have yet to travel to the nearby cities to get medical attention.

Yesterday, Radaza asked the hospital management to keep the place clean at all times so that patients and personnel letter can appreciate the place.  (FREEMAN)
