CEBU, Philippines - A 62-year-old taxi driver was allegedly robbed by two unidentified passengers in Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday.
According to Police Officer 2 Niño Mancao of Mactan Police Station 2, Jesus Narmoada, a resident of Consolacion, Cebu, lost P3,200 when two suspects declared hold-up as they arrived outside the entrance of a subdivision in the place around 2 o’clock in the morning.
Mancao added that the suspects sped off with the taxi cab, leaving the victim alone on the street.
Mancao said Narmoada sought for help as soon as he saw barangay tanods doing rounds in the area.
The victim was ushered to the police station and asked assistance from the police.
Few hours after, the police mobile responders found the taxi cab near a massage parlor in Sitio Cabatuan, Barangay Maribago.
Mancao said the suspects may have abandoned the taxi cab after carting away cash from the taxi driver.
Narmoada was said to have picked up the passengers in Barangay Basak, Mandaue City and reportedly slowed down in front of the subdivision the moment his passengers allegedly pointed a gun on him and acknowledged their true intention. — Christell Fatima M. Tudtud (FREEMAN)
