TCC back to just one grad rites
CEBU, Philippines – This year's graduating students of Talisay City College will walk down the aisle with no worries unlike the controversy-marred ceremonies last year.
Dr. Edgar Martinez, dean and caretaker of TCC, said only one graduation rites will be held on March 27 at the City Hall grounds where an expected 834 graduates from different courses, including master's and doctoral studies, will be attending.
"Han-ay na ug wa na'y samok ang graduation sa TCC," Martinez said.
Martinez told The FREEMAN that the number of students enrolled in TCC is increasing every school year.
"This is because TCC is run and managed by Talisay City government. It offers very affordable tuition fees and is designed for the poor, especially those living in Talisay and neighboring towns," he added.
Martinez also announced that the early registration for new students for the upcoming school year will start April 15.
Because of the increasing number of students at TCC, Martinez said he will just rely on the decision of the board whether to build more classrooms or buildings to accommodate the source.
TCC held two sets of graduation ceremony last year after the leadership clash between former TCC presidents Ritchel Bacaltos and Dr. Paulus Mariae Cañete. — Renan Alangilan of BANAT News
