Nido Panugaling of Sitio Limogmog, Barangay San Vicente, Liloan town was declared dead on arrival at the Mandaue City Hospital.
Panugaling sustained several wounds in the different parts of his body from the stabbing of suspect Rogelio Ygay, 54, of Barangay Ibabao, Mandaue City.
Police said the suspect used an 11-inch kitchen knife which he often used in peeling the mangoes he was selling at the roadside.
Senior Police Officer 1 Allen Carrado of Subangdaku Police Station told The FREEMAN that the suspect said it was the victim who first challenged him to a fistfight past 4 p.m. that day during a heated argument. It was not immediately available what the two vendors were quarreling about.

An earlier inspection, however, showed several stabbed wounds found in the right side of the victim’s body and his right leg. Ygay is currently detained at Subangdaku Police Station pending the filing of a homicide case against him. (FREEMAN)
