CEBU, Philippines - The 95 job order workers for the Legislative Research and Codification Project, under the Office of the Talisay City Council, have finally get their respective honorarium.
City Budget Officer Edgar Mabunay said the JO personnel for a research project, sponsored by the legislative department, have been working since January.
"Their honoraria are retroactive. We already released these after Mayor Johnny De los Reyes signed their punch card," Mabunay said.
Vice Mayor Romeo Villarante earlier sought for the mayor's endorsement of job order workers for the LRC project, and also asked for the issuance of their punch cards and entry cards.
They (JO workers) have complied with the requirements set by the city government but De los Reyes initially refused to signed their contracts, saying that he was waiting for the advice and clearance from the CBO.
The job-hire employees are covered by job orders to do a specific job for a particular project, but they do not have an employee-employer relationship with the city government.
Their salary rate depended on the number of days they render work per week. Those who work for five days a week received P300 per day; for six days, P253.84 per day; and for seven days, P220 per day.
Mabunay said the mayor already approved the P7-million budget for these JOs under the legislative department. (FREEMAN)
