CEBU, Philippines – A 37-year-old woman was accused of stabbing her long-time lover inside their house in Purok Butterfly, Barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Cecilda Taneo, who was believed to be intoxicated, rendered Vergelio Senerpida wounded on his right shoulder.

The suspect was reportedly irked when Senerpida asked her to go home due to drunkenness, according to Police Officer 1 Jade Querubin of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Homicide Section.

Before the incident, Taneo was said to be having a drinking spree with friends in a nearby store when Senerpida saw and went towards her.

An argument then ensued between them, prompting the victim to ask Taneo to go home with him. However, the suspect refused to go home as their house was just near the store.

Senerpida insisted, making Taneo mad, and when the two eventually arrived in their house, the verbal fight continued.

Taneo then reportedly took a bladed weapon and stabbed her live-in partner who was also drunk that time.

Senerpida was rushed to Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital and was then transferred in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for further medication.

Meanwhile, Taneo was arrested by responding police personnel of Gun-ob Police Station 3 and temporary detained at LLCPO detention cell.

PO1 Querubin said charges of attempted homicide will be filed against the suspect.

Senerpida and Taneo are said to be on a five-year relationship.
