CEBU, Philippines – The Mandaue City government is reminding senior citizens in the city who have not yet claimed their yearend financial assistance that they only have until tomorrow to get the aid from their respective barangays.
Roger Paller, public information officer, said that the unclaimed financial assistance will be reverted back to the city government.
With this, Paller urges all senior citizens in the city to coordinate with their chapter presidents and their respective barangay captains so they will be able to know the time and venue of the distribution as cashiers coming from the city treasurer’s office have been going to barangays to distribute the said financial assistance.
Mandaue City has a total of 15,000 senior citizens living in the 27 barangays in the city.
The senior citizens have already received the P2,000 financial assistance last June but just recently, the City Council approved an ordinance granting for another P1,000 financial assistance.
By next year, the senior citizens will get the P1,500 by mid-year while the other P1,500 will be received during the end of the year.
The distribution of the financial assistance started last Tuesday in barangays Tipolo, Subangdaku, Bakilid dos, Casuntingan and Banilad. Yesterday, senior citizens from barangays Maguikay, Cabancalan, Canduman, Pagsabungan, Tingub, Cubacub, Casili and Tawason received their aid.
For today, the city’s cashiers will be going to barangays Centro, Mantuyong, Cambaro, Guizo, Alang-alang, Umapad and Opao while barangays Ibabao-Estancia, Basak, Jagobiao, Tabok, Looc, Pakna-an and Labogon will receive their assistance tomorrow. —/ATO
