CEBU, Philippines – The Municipal Council of Consolacion has passed the annual budget for next year amounting to P222 million for General Fund, P6.8 million for the public market, P1.4 million for slaughterhouse and P11 million for the town's community college.
Consolacion Vice Mayor Aurelio Damole and members of the Municipal Council approved the request of Mayor Teresa Alegado to fast-track the implementation of the annual budget.
Under the annual budget, the municipal government approved the P222 million.
Among the priority projects under the budget are the implementation of different infrastructure projects next year and improvement of the delivery of health services, according to Mayor Alegado.
The Municipal Health Office has been given orders by Mayor Alegado to bring the government health services closer to the people at barangay level.
The need and concerns of farmers in the different barangays of Consolacion will be also given priority by the administration with the support of the council.
Furthermore, the improvement of farm to market roads is also in the list.
The municipal government allocated P11 million for the operations of the Consolacion Community College.
When Mayor Alegado assumed office in 2010, she emphasized that education would be one of her top priorities.
Before, Consolacion Community College had a budget of only P2 to P3 million.
The municipal government also aims to address the lack of classrooms in the town with the use of the Special Education Fund.
