CEBU, Philippines- A security guard was rushed to the hospital after he accidentally shot himself while using a comfort room at a gas station on Natalio Bacalso Avenue corner Macopa Street, Barangay Basak San Nicholas, Cebu City on Tuesday.

Ronel Arbulario Lacio, 26, of Barangay Tejero, Cebu City was rushed to the hospital after he sustained a gunshot wound in his right arm.

In a telephone interview, Police Officer 1 Junimark Ungab, homicide investigator, said Lacio went inside Total Gas Station's comfort room to answer the call of nature.

While he was inside the CR, Lacio reportedly placed his gun on the lavatory.

He then stood up and fixed his uniform.

While fixing his uniform, however, the gun accidentally fell and fired, hitting Lacio in the arm.

Lacio felt numb and asked the help of pump attendant Leofel Lagarde who brought him to Cebu City Medical Center.

"Nasaghiran ra to niya kay gamay man gud kaayo ang CR, huot kaayo maong pagbarog niya, iyang gitarong iyang uniform, wa siguro siya kabantay nga nasaghiran diay," Ungab said.

Ungab said the bullet entered through Lacio's lower right arm and cut its way through his upper right arm.

Police recovered from the scene the colt automatic caliber 9mm, six live ammunition and one empty shell.

They immediately conducted a joint operation with the Regional Public Safety Battalion-7 and went to Jimenez' house.
