CEBU, Philippines - A man was shot down after two strangers engaged on a small conversation with him yesterday morning in Lapu-Lapu City.
The victim was identified as Ricky Hisoler, 29, who is a native of Sitio Kubong, Barangay Lasgasan, Barili, Cebu and temporarily residing in Sitio Kabatuan, Barangay Pajac.
Police officer Manolito Abellanosa of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office- Homicide Section, said based on their initial investigation, at around 8:15 a.m., Hisoler was having siesta by lying on an improvised cradle outside his house while enjoying his cup of coffee.
Meanwhile, two unidentified suspects allegedly had a copy of his photo and eventually searched for his house.
When the suspects saw the victim that day, one of them approached Hisoler from where he was sitting.
One of the suspects allegedly exchanged conversation with Hisoler and then pulled his firearm and shot the victim.
Hisoler managed to run a few meters away but was chased by the unknown suspects. He was shot again.
The victim got three gunshot wounds on his body and was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Abellanosa added that grudge was the possible motive of the two suspects in shooting Hisoler.
Meanwhile, police authorities conducted follow-up investigation and operation for possible identification of the shooting duo.
