METROPOLICE: Habal-habal driver stabbed
CEBU, Philippines - A habal-habal driver was stabbed and wounded by his live-in partner after a heated argument believed to be caused by jealousy in Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City Thursday evening.
Wounded was Reynante Cualbar, 38, a native of Tuburan, Cebu but temporarily residing in Barangay Tabok.
The suspect was identified as Jonalyn Bacarro, 23, a native of Barangay Lumampao, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.
Initial investigation conducted by Senior Police Officer 1 Edmund Bilacora, duty investigator of Station 3 of the Mandaue City Police Station said that Cualbar and Bacarro had a heated argument allegedly because of jealousy around 11 p.m. Thursday.
The victim allegedly suspected that his live-in partner had a relationship with another man. Bacarro strongly denied the accusation.
Cualbar mauled his live-in partner. In return, Bacarro took a kitchen knife and stabbed Cualbar hitting his neck.
Residents in the area informed barangay tanods of the incident and then called up the police.
Personnel of the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation brought the victim to Eversly Child Sanitarium Hospital. Victim was later transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
The suspect was arrested by the police and is presently detained at a detention cell in Station 3 in Barangay Basak. (FREEMAN)
