Drinking spree turns bloody
CEBU, Philippines - A man was stabbed by his neighbor after a late night drinking spree in Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.
The victim was identified as Ricardo Amistad, 47, who was a construction worker and a resident of Barangay Pajac while the suspects were Ryle Alegre, 33, and a certain man named "Pat" who both live in the same barangay.
Initial investigation was made by Police Officer Jade Querubin of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, who reported that at around 11 p.m. Sunday, Amistad had a drinking session along with his relatives Josil Hiyas and Maxin Alegres, both living in Barangay Pajac.
The suspect, suddenly arrived at where the victim and his relatives were drinking and began arguing about personal matters.
The conversation turned into a heated vernal tussle allegedly making Alegre, who was armed with an icepick, to immediately stab Amistad several times hitting the victim's right waist and chest.
Amistad was brought to Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital for further medical treatment. The suspect fled to unidentified direction. Police authorities are still conducting investigation regarding the incident.
