Juffer Denn C. Bornales and Lara Praz C. Mayol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Public and private transport drivers and operators are advised of a traffic rerouting scheme starting 8 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday during the Christ Resurrection or "Sugat" in Tabunok, Talisay City.

This, after the the St. Joseph the Worker Parish announced it will hold its very first Sugat at the spot below the Tabunok flyover.

Harry V. Lambo, traffic inspector at City of  Talisay-Traffic Operation Development, said Tabunok flyover will be closed to all vehicles during the event.

However, CT-TODA has prepared a six-meter access way via Toledo-Tabunok Road for all vehicles from Cebu City bound for Barangay Lagtang.

Cebu City vehicles bound for south will have to turn left near Gaisano Fiesta Mall Tabunok and pass through San Isidro Road to the South Road Properties.

CT-TODA will deploy traffic inspectors to guide motorists and public commuters during the occasion.

The Tabunok flyover will be opened when the Easter mass ends at around 5 a.m.

The Sugat celebration in Tabunok this year will be known as "Easter Crossover 2014."  Church officials said this is to attract more Christian devotees and parishioners to Talisay. (FREEMAN)
