Girl, 8, molested

CEBU, Philippines - A daughter of a Philippine Air Force officer was allegedly molested by their eight-year-old girl neighbor in Mandaue City.

Carmelito Sistoso Jr., 29, of Sitio Abra, Barangay Alang-Alang, lodged a complaint at the Mandaue City Police Office over the alleged rape of his daughter by a certain Julius Carmona, 49, from Punta Taytay, Bacolod City.

Police Officer 1 Juliet Trogo of  Women's Section said the alleged molestation took place on Monday afternoon.

Carmona allegedly invited Tina (not her real name) in his house and started to do lewd acts with the girl. In order for the victim not to speak about the incident, he allegedly bribed her P20.

When Tina arrived home, she complained to his father that her middle extremity was aching. Sistoso brought the girl to the hospital for a check-up and the doctor assessed that her private part was indeed "touched."

Her child told his father that she was touched by Carmona through the use of his finger.

Police officers in Mandaue made a hot pursuit operation in the area and arrested Carmona who was found walking around the barangay.

The suspect was charged with a file complaint of acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610 known as Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. — (FREEMAN)
