CEBU, Philippines - A worker of Mactan Export Processing Zone was found hanging dead inside his rented room in Sitio Arca in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City Friday evening.

Jason Arcayan, in his mid-20's, single and originally from Sogod town, "committed" suicide by tying a belt to his neck attached to room's beam.

It was his boardmates Julito Montero and Elisio Gambo who discovered his lifeless body when they began looking for him after not seeing him since Thursday evening.

Both said they have been knocking on the door of Arcayan's rented room since Thursday but got no reply from him so they thought the victim was not home.

But last Friday evening, they once again knocked on the door and yet received no reply. They, however, noticed that there was a stench inside his room prompting them to force open it.

When they saw Arcayan hanging, they immediately called for police assistance.

Police found no foul play involved in the incident and no suicide note from the victim but took his cellular phone to see if there were hints into the suicide.

Arcayan's boardmates said they noticed that he was so lonely the past days. although he never mentioned about his problem.  (FREEMAN)
