P110T lost in LPG store’s cash vault

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  A distributor of liquefied petroleum gas brand in Barangay Tingub in Mandaue City lost P110,000 in its cash vault last Monday.

Pelagio Nicaros, manager of Japer Marketing, personally reported to Casuntingan Police Station that they discovered the said amount was no longer in their cash vault when they were supposed to use the money at around 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

Senior Police Officer 2 Renato Canja of Casuntingan Police said the unidentified culprit used a key in opening the vault and was also able to open the second vault where the cash was placed.

The second vault was reportedly secured by a specific number combination.

Because the police believed that it was an inside job, members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives of Philippine National Police took some latent prints on the vault and its key.

Employees were also subjected to latent printing.

Police are still conducting follow up investigation for the possible arrest of the suspect.  (FREEMAN)
