CEBU, Philippines - The Habitat for Humanity Philippines will support the Mandaue City government in developing a 6.5-hectare relocation site for the poor in barangay Paknaan.
Charlie S. Ayco, chief executive officer and managing director of Habitat Humanity Foundation Inc. told The Freeman that the foundation and Mayor Jonas Cortes have agreed to work together for the benefit of 1,000 poor people who look forward to owning their own houses.
Aside from constructing houses, Ayco said the foundation will also provide livelihood.
At the relocation site, beneficiaries can build their own houses or avail of a socialized housing program.
The beneficiaries will pay for the lots through a mortgage program of the Social Housing Finance Corp., the lead government agency that finances social housing programs for low-income communities. (FREEMAN)
