Talisay, Carcar ready for Sinulog
CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City and Carcar City government are preparing for the Sinulog in Cebu City.
While the Talisay City contingent won in the elementary division last year, it is now preparing for the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan.
Carcar City will not join the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan today.
Mayor Nicepuro Apura yesterday said they would rather join the Sinulog parade on January 19.
“We will not participate in the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan. What we are busy preparing for right now is the grand showdown,†Apura said.
For the third time in a row, the Carcar City Division emerged champion in the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan contest, besting eight other contingents in the Secondary Division.
Talisay City budget officer Edgar Mabunay said they feel the pressure right now considering that they emerged grand champion of the Elementary Division last year.
“Ang presentasyon sa Talisay maghulagway sa mga nasinati nga katalagman sa dakbayan sa Talisay apan nagpabilin gihapon ang hugot nga pagtuo sa Balaang Bata nga si Sr. Santo Niño,†Mabunay said. (FREEMAN)
