Carcar to sponsor mass wedding Feb. 28
CEBU, Philippines - The Carcar City government will sponsor a mass wedding on February 28 at the Saint Catherine de Alexandria parish.
City information officer Candice Sandiego-Acuna said the mass wedding is already on its third year.
“Carcar City is expecting the participants to further grow. During its pilot year, 35 pairs were wed, the following year 70 pairs came and tied the knot, and thus we expect the number to grow further,†Acuna said.
Acuna said that aside from paying for pertinent documents, everything else is free including the symbolic wedding ring, symbolic wine, symbolic wedding cake, a token, an acoustic band, and photos.
Each couple is allowed ten guests to the reception.
The church wedding will start at 2:00 p.m. and the civil wedding will follow immediately.
The reception will then be held in front of the city hall.
On February 21, certificates of birth, death, marriage, and free marriage license will be issued as part of the activities celebrating Civil Registration Month. (FREEMAN)
