Dog bites 8 persons on New Year’s Day Arian Sweden

CEBU, Philippines - A dog made history in sitio Malibog, Cebu City on New Year’s Day – it bit eight persons.

Bitten were Norma Enocian, Bernadette Enocian, Edmuna Jabadan, Ryan Arcayan, Ashley Marie Musua, Melvin Arallo, Irene Belenia, Nino Waga, all of sitio Malibog.

The poor dog however had to be killed for obvious reasons, Cebu City Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella said.

All the persons bitten need to be vaccinated by the anti-rabies vaccines “Verorab” and “Fabirab,” he said.

Labella said all eight were vaccinated with Verorab, but at first each was given just one shot of “Fabirab” because one vial of the vaccine costs five thousand pesos. The first shot of “Fabirab” was donated by the Cebu City Health Office.

The second shot, donated by the Department of Health, was administered yesterday.

Labella said the dog’s head was cut off and turned over to the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory for diagnosis. (FREEMAN)
