Public told: Patronize only licensed fireworks makers

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City officials and the police urge residents who patronize pyrotechnics to buy only from licensed manufacturers and authorized dealers.

Police chief Rey Lyndon Lawas has been tasked by the Police Regional Office-7 to strictly implement the directives issued by Camp Crame which are related to the selling of pyrotechnics.

Barangay Babag in Lapu-Lapu City is known for its pyrotechnics manufacturers but a number of them are unlicensed.

Aside from the police, the Bureau of Fire and Protection has also been tasked to monitor those engaged in the manufacture of pyrotechnics.

Mayor Paz Radaza said barangay officials should also assist the police to assure the safety of residents.  (FREEMAN)
