DOT eyes rehab off two streets in Mandaue

CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Tourism (DOT) is considering incorporating in its 2014 budgetary allocation the road repair and rehabilitation of A.S. Fortuna and Plaridel streets in Mandaue City.

With this, sixth district representative Gabriel Luis Quisumbing has expressed his gratitude to DOT Secretary Ramon Jimenez because the road repair is vital in the preparation for the 2015 Asia Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) which will be held in Cebu.

"Our district, especially Mandaue City, serves as the gateway to the province and it is very important that we make a good impression on the guests and dignitaries that shall be attending the APEC," Quisumbing said.

He said these infrastructures are crucial and the complete rehabilitation of these roads will help ease traffic congestion and ensure the efficient, safe and fast transport of people and products from one destination to another in the entire province. — (FREEMAN)
