CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Councilor Doroteo Emit, formerly a Liberal Party stalwart but who is now with Alayon, said Alayon is still the party to reckon with in the city.
Emit was elected chief of barangay Pooc in 2007 and joined Alayon before running for councilor in the May 13 national elections.
He said he never regretted his decision to leave the LP since his constituents in Pooc had benefitted from Alayon's assistance.
Emit said he doesn't give too much importance on political affiliations but rather on the service one renders to the public.
According to reports, some city officials associated with Alayon will join the LP but Emit said it is difficult to confirm because Alayon in Talisay is still strong.
On other hand, city councilor Danny Caballero of the LP told The Freeman yesterday he can't tell yet whether some city and barangay officials will join his party. (FREEMAN)
