Only barangay captains not running are eligible to become members of the different committees.

A notice will be given out to all barangays 15 days before the polls.

Bulacao barangay captain Raul Cabañero and Ofelia "Fe" Ylanan of Linao are emerging as the frontrunners in the forthcoming ABC elections.

Ylanan will vie for the ABC presidency for the second time. She fought for the position against Basillote in 2010.

The DILG's role in the approaching ABC elections will only remain supervisorial stressing the punong barangays will form committees to oversee election proceedings.

Based on the schedule forwarded by the National Liga ng mga Barangay, the tentative date for the elections will be on December 9 for municipalities and December 18 for provinces and highly urbanized cities.

The local councils could move the date of their elections a week after December 18 as long as it is not later than January 16 which is the scheduled election date for the national election of the Liga ng mga Barangay.  (FREEMAN)
