Power firm donates solar lamps to Naga

Garry B. Lao - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Power plant KEPCO SPC Power Corporation (KSPC) President Bong Joo Choi has donated 100 solar lamps to Naga City.

A solar lantern, when fully charged, can light up for 100 hours if in the normal selector option and nine hours if the maximum illumination selector option is favored.

These lamps last longer than battery-operated flashlights.

The lanterns can also serve as cell phone chargers, giving its users added benefits.

Mayor Valdemar M.  Chiong said the firm’s donation will greatly help people in villages in the hilly land when power fails to reach them at night.

Kepco-SPC Power Corp. operates a 200-megawatt coal-fired power plant in the city. (FREEMAN)
