Talisay SP starts probing “cannibalization” of impounded motorcycles

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City council approved a proposed resolution yesterday morning which urges the chief of the city police to submit a comprehensive report regarding the status of impounded motorcycles.

Councilor Danny Caballero authored the measure, which came on the heels of a report that the impounded motorcycles which are in the custody of the police are allegedly being cannibalized.

The vehicles are located at the impounding area beside the Talisay City Police Station building in barangay Poblacion.

Some of these vehicles have corroded.

Caballero wishes to know if owners of the impounded motorcycles have lost their right to the vehicles and should be released in favor of the city government.

Aside from it, the city official would like to clarify the report that some of the spare parts of the impounded motorcycles were allegedly robbed, swapped, and destructed.

“Whereas, there is also a report that some of the spare parts of these impounded motorcycles were robbed, swapped and destructed…….Whereas, these reported incidents should be clarified by the Talisay City police for sustainability of its integrity, competence and loyalty towards the public”, reads the resolution. — (FREEMAN)
