CEBU, Philippines - The cancellation of all activities of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers-Mandaue City Chapter will not affect its plan to support the needs of residents at the 6.5-hectare relocation site in barangay Paknaan.
Joe Arib, president of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers-Mandaue City Chapter told The Freeman that the one-week celebration was cancelled because of the earthquake.
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes issued Executive Order No, 18 declaring October 14 to October 18 as PSME Week.
Mayor Jonas Cortes joined PSME members during the opening of the celebration but the following day activities were cancelled because of the earthquake.
Mayor Jonas Cortes and Engr. Joe Arib in behalf of PSME signed a memorandum of agreement for joint activities at the 6.5-hectare relocation site.
PSME officials will assist the city government of Mandaue in addressing the drainage problem. (FREEMAN)
