Mandaue honors top 40 taxpayers

CEBU, Philippines - The Visayan Electric Company, the Coca Cola Bottler’s Philippines, Business tycoon Erramon Aboitiz, and Vic Enterprises are this year’s top taxpayers in the four different categories set by the Mandaue City government.

These entities and individuals were given recognition last Thursday evening during the “Taxpayers Night” at the Oakridge Grand Pavilion in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

The Visayan Electric Company (Veco) topped the corporate business taxpayers while the Coca-Cola Bottler’s Philippines topped the corporate realty taxpayers.

Vic Enterprises topped the business taxpayers for sole proprietorship while Business tycoon Erramon Aboitiz topped the individual taxpayers for realty tax.

The city also gave special recognition to institutions that supported education.

The awardees were the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., the Security Bank Foundation Inc., Veco, Mandaue Foam, and the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

These institutions have been involved in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the city government and has helped a lot in addressing the city’s shortage of classrooms and the educational needs of the public school children in the city.

The other awardees who also received plaques of recognition for corporate realty taxpayers were San Miguel Brewery Inc., Everjust Realty Development Corp., Vicsal Development Corp., San Miguel Yamamura, J. King and Sons Co. Inc., Shogun Management and Development Corp., Taipan Development Corp., Golden Great Value Properties, and A.D. Gothong Manufacturing.

Awardees for corporate business taxpayers are Zuellig Pharma Corp., Adnama Mining Resources Inc., JS Unitrade Merchandise Inc., PMFTC Inc., Coca-Cola Bottler’s Phils. Inc., Aboitiz Construction Group Inc., United Laboratories Inc., Super Metro Gaisano (Vicsal Dev’t Corp.), Monde Nissin Biscuits Corp.

Other awardees of business for sole proprietorship were Ride’s Enterprises, Dynamic Castings, Waterfront Freight Forwarder, SVF Design and Build, MGMM Freight Forwarder, Alrey Cargo Forwarding, Marides Marketing, PLD Construction, and Wintrey Enterprises.

Other top individual taxpayers for realty tax were Joseph Alquizola, James Yu, Raymond Ong, Hyman Yap, Gerard Tan, King Kee Ko, Hiram Chu, Lester To Chip, and Jimmy Chua.

Mayor Jonas Cortes thanked the taxpayers and urged them to help the city achieve its vision of becoming the premier destination in central Philippines. (FREEMAN)
