Korean, tricycle driver shot, taken to hospital

CEBU, Philippines - A Korean national and a tricycle driver were shot and wounded by three robbers yesterday dawn in sitio Uldog, Ramona Village, barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

Superintendent Resty Santos, officer-in-charge of Talisay City Police Station said shot and wounded were Jeong Yoo Jin (male) or “Ujin” and tricycle driver Diogracias Dumancas, 46, of sitio Ilang-ilang, barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

Ujin and Korean women Nam Ok Min or “Mina” and Lee Yu Na or “Yuna” had just emerged from a restaurant after having a drink.

The three Koreans were on Dumancas’ tricycle on their way home when the three decided to drink some more.

They told Dumancas to bring them to another restaurant in Tabunok,.

Unknown to them, three men on a motorcycle were following them.

As the robbers got near the Koreans, they declared a holdup, taking cellular phones and money.

Yuna would not let go of her phone, but since she was drunk she fell to the ground as she held unto it while it was being taken from her.

Ujin immediately got off from the tricycle to help Yuna stand up, but as he did so, a robber shot him in the abdomen.

Dumancas attempted to help his passengers but was also shot  on the left shoulder.

The two men were taken to the Talisay City District Hospital and later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The police already have a suspect. — (FREEMAN)
