CEBU, Philippines - A security guard was arrested after stealing from a manufacturing firm he was supposed to protect.
Raymundo Enricoso, 24, of barangay Mambaling, Cebu City worked for Foxtamer Security Agency.
Enricoso had stolen steel bars from Extreme System Manufacturing in barangay Maguikay with a total value of P200,000.
Police chief P Sr./Insp.Ramil Morpos said Extreme System Manufacturing Corporation owner Antonio Teng, 59, told police last Monday that his firm had been robbed of more than 2,000 kilos of steel lead bars and that he had no suspects.
Immediately the police sprang into action.
A scrap iron buyer told police a man had sold him steel lead bars and his description of the seller led police to Enricoso.
Enricoso admitted to stealing about 119 lead bars. Each bar weighing 20 kilos cost P1,900.
“Nasakpan ni siya kay ang scrap buyer nga iyang gibaligyaan, mibaligya sad sa among mga butang ngadto sa laing scrap buyer nga mao ra say namaligya niini ngadto sa kompanya ni Teng. Murag nabalik lang gihapon sa iya ang mga steel lead bars nga gipangkawat diha sa iyang kompanya,†Morpos said.
Enricoso stole at least two bars daily which he kept in the U-box of his motorcycle, and then sold these directly to scrap buyers.
He claimed he needed money to pay the monthly amortization for his motorcycle and preparing for his approaching wedding.
Charges were filed yesterday in the Mandaue City Prosecutors Office. (FREEMAN)
