Fastfood outlet manager dies in vehicular accident

CEBU, Philippines - A fastfood outlet manager died after figuring in a road accident while driving a motorcycle on his way to a company outing yesterday morning along South Road Properties, Cebu City.

Celestino Adolfo Jr., of legal age, sustained severe head injuries.

PO2 Wilfredo Caperida of Traffic Patrol Group said Adolfo was heading toward the outing’s venue in Talisay City at past 9 a.m. when he reportedly lost control of his machine and swerved into the bridge’s railing.

Adolfo was reportedly seen chasing a Yamaha Mio motorcycle prior to the accident.

Adolfo was thrown away from his motorcycle and hit his head hard on the cemented railing, which caused his death. His helmet even cracked due to the strong impact and his motorcycle was also thrown and ran over by a trailer van.

Fredo de Vivar, Adolfo’s co-employee, said they were on their way from a fastfood chain outlet in Mactan to Villa Teresita in Talisay City for the company outing.

He said Adolfo went ahead of them and they were surprised to see traffic building up minutes later at SRP.

There, they saw a man, bloodied and lying on the road.

“Nakurat na lang mi nga siya (Adolfo) diay ang naaksidente,” de Vivar said.

The Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) along with the Basak-Pardo Ambulance arrived in the area but Adolfo was already dead.

Adolfo, a resident of Canduman, Mandaue City, was brought to a funeral home while the company outing was postponed. (FREEMAN)
