CEBU, Philippines - A Korean restaurant along Hernan Cortes Street in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City lost P150,000 to theft Monday dawn.

Restaurant owner Ma. Anabelle Cañete was driving near her restaurant at around 4 a.m. Monday dawn when she spotted two men outside the eating place.

She quickly called their attention. “Hoy, gaunsa mo diha?” The men ran away and were picked up by two motorcycles.

Inside the restaurant, Cañete discovered the day’s earnings amounting to P150,000 gone from the cash register.

Also missing were her workers’ cellular phones.

The police noticed the restaurant lacked a CCTV camera and did not employ a security guard.

Casuntingan police station chief P Sr/ Insp. Ramil Morpos urges business establishments to set up their own CCTV cameras and hire security guards.

“Kay mag-unsa man na ang CCTV cameras kun way security guard,” Morpos said.

He also said he has ordered four policemen on motorcycles to patrol crime-prone areas under his area of  jurisdiction.  (FREEMAN)
