CEBU, Philippines - Three barangays in Lapu-Lapu City had no power supply for 19 hours last Friday starting from 11:59 of May 17 until 6 a.m. of May 19.

The power transmission line of the National Grid Corp. of the Phils (NGCP) located at the foot of the Mandaue Mactan Bridge in Lapu-Lapu had sparked, which created a short circuit, according to an initial report of FO3 Climaco Salisid of the Bureau of Fire and Protection.

The transmission line is the source of electricity of the Mactan Benito Ebuen Airbase and the Mactan Electric Company (Meco).

The affected barangays were Pusok, Poblacion, and Pajo wherein the brown out started. (FREEMAN)
