Traffic enforcer arrests jobless man for stealing
CEBU, Philippines - A traffic enforcer arrested a jobless man for stealing scrap iron from a moving vehicle Tuesday morning along A. C. Cortes Street in barangay Umapad.
Joeffer Varga, a member of Traffic Enforcement Agency in Mandaue (TEAM) saw Bernard Canes, 20, jobless, of Purok Lemonsito, barangay Umapad, Mandaue City clinging on a truck and stealing its cargo.
The truck and its load of scrap iron is owned by MPC Junkshop.
Varga, according to Senior Insp. Alexander Nuñez, chief of Opao police station, ran after the vehicle and arrested Canes. Canes’ cohort eluded arrest.
Seized from Canes was a sack full of scrap iron weighing about 58 kilos.
Canes is now detained at the Opao police station. (FREEMAN)
