Bystanders gang up on “robber”

CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City government opened yesterday a diversion road that will decongest the road in barangay Basak.

Mayor Paz Radaza led the opening of the Pakpakan road, a vital road link in barangay Basak that will help ease vehicular traffic from Mactan Doctors’ Hospital to the Gaisano Grand Mall.

Radaza said there are a lot of developments in Basak nowadays and over a dozen of subdivisions have mushroomed in sitios Sudtunggan and Masulog.

The newly opened Pakpakan road is a two-lane road, stretching 705 meters in length, with a total cost of P9.2 million.

Construction started January 25 and was finished last Thursday.  (FREEMAN)
