Eddiegul favors revival of ROTC
CEBU, Philippines - First district representative Eduardo Gullas will urge his grandson Gerald Anthony “Samsam†Gullas to file a bill for the revival of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) when he takes his seat in Congress.
Samsam is running unopposed in the May 2013 election.
In his speech delivered Tuesday during the celebration of the 68th anniversary of the landing of American forces in the city, Rep. Gullas said, “How do we honor the veterans? I respectfully propose to revive the ROTC. I will suggest to the congressman-to-be Samsam Gullas — he is among the 17 congressional candidates all over the country without an opponent – to file the ROTC Bill.â€
He said young men and women from the different schools will learn discipline through ROTC and they will be prepared as reservists. (FREEMAN)
