Police promoting stickers campaign

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office has urged the public to help the police implement the Crime Prevention Stickers, which was launched last Monday.

Also launched on the same day was Safe 2013: Secure and Fair Election stickers.

At the launch was Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, MCPO director Sr. Supt. Petronelli Baldebrin, unit chiefs, and station chiefs.

The stickers are posted at the Parkmall terminal and at the North Bus Terminal as well as inside public utility jeepneys and buses.

Police Community Relations (PCR) officer Chief Insp. Oscar Monteroyo said the purpose of the stickers is to allow the riding public to reach the police quickly when in need of assistance.

“This is to inform the public especially commuters that if ever they notice suspicious looking persons or even witness the commission of a crime they could immediately inform the police,” Monteroyo said in a phone interview.

The idea was initiated by the Camp Crame through a memorandum sent to the entire police headquarters last week.  (FREEMAN)
