Scouts to act as watchdogs

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Solid Waste Management has tapped the services of boy and girl scouts from five schools in a bid to stop people from littering public places especially today when the “Traslacion” will be held.

The Traslacion is the coming together of the images of the Sto. Nino, the Virgen de Guadalupe, and St. Joseph in Mandaue City.

Both images of the Sto Niño and the Virgen de la Guadalupe will stay overnight at the St. Joseph National Shrine where a vigil will be held.

Tomorrow, the images will be returned to the Basilica de Minore del Sto.Niño through a fluvial parade.

The scouts come from Tipolo National High School, Subangdaku National High School, Mandaue City Comprehensive High School, and Mandaue City Science High School.

Helping the scouts are fifteen personnel from the Clean and Green department. (FREEMAN)
