Mandaue to demolish 17 houses next week

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City legal office will demolish 17 houses and other structures along G. Ouano Extension in barangay Ibabao-Estancia next week.

City legal officer Giovanni Tianero said demolition is necessary to get a road project going.

Notices had been sent to settlers in the area since December 7 yet.

The homeowners are identified as Pedro Lisao, Warren Mendaros, Maximo Mendaros, Erwin Mendaros, Boyet Deo, Jerry Omega, Ronnel Ludovice, Leopoldo Mendoza, Marilyn Mata, Gregorio Villamor, Niel Nestor Pintor, Susana Colina, Lauro Pintor, Dolores Uy, Violeta Ochia, Felicitas Pintor, and Felipe Menchavez.

Some of these homeowners actually owned the lots where their houses stand and has been compensated. (FREEMAN)
