Headless infant found at creek

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  A infant was found floating at the Maguikay Creek early yesterday morning without a head and its right shoulder also missing.

Personnel of the Maguikay barangay hall immediately informed the Casuntingan police station.

Police then called up the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) which then took the baby from the creek and brought it to the Maguikay barangay hall.

Casuntingan police chief P Sr./Insp. Meche Gabod said she believed that the baby was born dead.

“Gianak tong bataa, apan gumikan kay patay na ug gihasolan ang ginikanan palubong posibling gipaanod na lang sa sapa,” Gabod said.

She believed the infant may have lost its head while being carried away by the water and at the same time struck by hard objects. Its right shoulder was also gone.  (FREEMAN)
