CEBU, Philippines - More positions will be created in the Office of the City Engineer in Talisay City
“There is a need to create additional permanent positions for the office to cope with the growing needs of the city government specifically in the Office of the City Engineer to continuously deliver efficient services to constituents,” according to City Councilor Rodolfo L. Cabigas, city council representative to the Personnel Selection Board.
If the ordinance, authored by Vice Mayor Alan G. Bucao, is approved, there will be an electrical general foreman and an administrative officer.
An appropriation will be set aside from the General Fund for the creation of these new positions.
According to Cabigas, the Office of the City Engineer is at present reorganizing its personnel so that the services and functions of each staff will be equally distributed.
In the best interest of public service, Cabigas said the positions are deemed justified in as much as the creation will not in any way affect the limitation of Personnel Services set by the Department of Budget and Management as well as the minimum standards and guidelines prescribed by the Civil Service Commission. .
