Lapu-Lapu to build small sports center in Olango

CEBU, Philippines -  The Lapu-Lapu City government has allocated P15 million to finance the construction of a mini hoopsdome in barangay Talima in Olango Island, Mayor Paz Radaza said.

Radaza said the construction of the mini hoopsdome in Olango Island is part of the city government’s intent to provide the necessary services to the people of Olango Island.

She said Olango Island is now the center of the city government’s promotion for eco-tourism.

The city mayor said the hoopsdome  lacks facilities to accommodate a big number of people.

Radaza said the allocation for the construction was included in the city’s annual budget.

Radaza said the structure will be designed in such as way that it could accommodate evacuees during calamities.  (FREEMAN)
