CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Education in Lapu-Lapu City and the police department are dropping by public schools to instruct students on what to do when threatened by criminals.
Students in the different public pre-elementary and elementary school in 20 barangays of Lapu-Lapu City undergo training and seminars.
Authorities see fraternities and illegal drug users as potential threats to students in pre-elementary and elementary, and so City School Division Superintendent Eduardo Ompad issued a directive to that effect which also was the basis for the police to send personnel to schools.
Lapu-Lapu City Police chief Senior Superintendent Rey Lyndon Lawas expressed his happiness for the success of the on-going campaign.
The lectures conducted by the police are tailored to the grade level of the students. (FREEMAN)
