CEBU, Philippines - Close to 2,000 indigent patients from 14 barangays in Liloan town will now be Philhealth beneficiaries.
Liloan Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco, Vice Mayor Lito Pilapil, and members of the municipal council attended the ceremonial turnover of identification cards to the beneficiaries.
In his message, Frasco said his administration lists health as one of his administration’s priority programs citing the increasing population.
Frasco said that in previous years, the Department of Social Welfare and Development had an annual budget at P400 thousand but this year its annual budget rose to P3.8 million.
“Kaniadto nakita nato nga gamay ra gayud kaayo ang budget sa atong buhatan sa DSWD pero karon kay nakita man nato ang panginahanglan mao nga ato kini nga gipadak-an,” Frasco said.
According to Frasco, aside from the medical assistance from Philhealth, residents may also avail of the medical assistance program of the municipal government.
He said the municipal government has deposited funds at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and Eversly Child Sanitarium Hospital.
Frasco said residents of the town can avail of the assistance once they are cleared by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (FREEMAN)
