Man from Toledo shot dead in Naga
CEBU, Philippines - A man was shot dead by a still unidentified attacker along the national highway of Barangay Lutac, Naga City Monday evening.
Killed was a certain Roger Sorvilla, of legal age, from barangay Sangi, Toledo City.
He succumbed to one gunshot wound to his head.
Sorvilla was taken to the Minglanilla District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
A witness, Alfredo Pantillas, alleged that it was around 9:00p.m. when he heard a single burst of gunfire.
Pantillas also heard a motorcycle speeding away from the area a few minutes later.
Naga City investigator PO1 Nilo Daclis said Sorvilla was then found lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
Police found an empty shell of .45 caliber gun at the crime scene.
Recovered from Sorvilla’s possession was a digital wrist watch, three rolled tissue paper, crumpled tin foil, a small plastic packet with residues of shabu, a forcep, and P60.
Police however are yet to determine the motive of the crime and what Sorvilla was doing in the place since he was from Toledo City.
Daclis said Sorvilla had a pending case for violation of the dangerous drugs law. (FREEMAN)
